After years of putting it off, I finally dived into UE4. I chose to do a product viz type of project and chose the pedal from my touring bike. I went over the whole thing with a vernier calipers and recreated it super accurately in Solidworks as a multi-body part file, aiming for a class A surfacing standard. Then I exported to Max and added some tiny details (the strap, and few bits'n'bobs on the strap clip). I'm still working on the CAD to Max workflow, it's far from perfect as it is. There are no UVs used here, just box mapping and cylindrical mapping. The transition to UE4 is still very much a work in progress at the moment!
