This is a project that I did in my spare time starting in January. It took me a lot longer than I had anticipated but I learned a lot.
It's a stripped down ATV that would fit into a post apocalyptic world, a bit like Mad Max but with less ornamentation and more focus on the practicality of the vehicle. It isn't based on any one model of ATV but is inspired by various models by different manufacturers.
I'm integrating CAD programs more and more for the high poly modeling. I used Solidworks, 3ds Max and ZBrush for the high poly, 3DS Max for the low poly, Substance Painter and a tiny bit of Photoshop for texturing. New challenges that I faced included doing welds seams for the first time, as well as the sheer complexity of modeling the engine. I realised too late that I could have saved a lot of time modeling the low poly using the CAD model as a base - I intend to do some small test projects to explore this idea soon.
